Jaguar Repair

Jaguar is a marvelously exotic automobile.  Due to their relatively low volume of sales and limited number of dealers, the repair market has traditionally shied away from Jaguar service. They require different and specialized tooling, combined with highly technical training and experience.

Continental Imports has worked on Jaguars since we have been in business. Steve, one of our original owners, had a ‘63 Jag XKE in college. That Jaguar was a primary reason Steve began working on cars: as a poor college student, he definitely didn’t have the money to pay for professional repair services.

Continental Imports’ most senior technician is our Jaguar specialist. Richard Colbert has worked for Continental Imports nearly 35 years, and has worked almost exclusively on Jaguars all that time.  As a result, we offer experience in the entire line of Jaguar vehicles, from the classic XK120/150s through XKEs, into XJs and XJSs.

Modern cars have onboard diagnostic systems, and communication with these systems is fundamental for diagnosis and repair. Continental Imports invested in the Jaguar IDS system in 2008. Unlike the built-in, guided fault-finding characteristics of the German manufacturers’ diagnostic computers, the IDS basically leaves the tech to his own processes. Experience is therefore an absolute necessity. To augment our expertise, in 2014, Continental Imports invested in the aftermarket Autologic computer system for Jaguar and Land Rover.  The Autologic tool was developed by former Land Rover engineers in the UK, and offers a system that is uniquely suited to aid repair shop technicians. As the technician runs tests, a log is created.  This log is then transmitted over the Internet to Autologic engineers in the UK.  They review the log to suggest further testing, or in many cases, create software repairs and patches to solve problems without expensive parts and labor.

Continental Imports does a large enough volume in Jaguar repair and service, along with Land Rover, to occupy the total resources of two technicians maintaining the required experience to do repairs efficiently at reduced expense. We are proud to say that we have maximized the performance of numerous late- model Jaguars, and have been able to make many an older Jag a sustainable daily driver.
